Reed Johnson Signs With Cubs

Reed Johnson, a player that the Toronto Blue Jays do not want, has been signed by the Cubs. He'll be the backup for Felix Pie, become a fan favorite because everyone will want to see Felix Pie gone when he shows off that enormous hole in his swing, and then promptly show why he was not wanted by the Toronto Blue Jays. It's a safe backup plan though, I must admit.

- Oh No! Les Walrond was sent to minor league camp, hopefully to work as a janitor. Sam Fuld and Eric Patterson were sent to Iowa.

- Scott Eyre doesn't need season ending surgery, as of right now.

- The Felix Pie apologists are out in full force. Basing things off of spring training numbers? Shame on you. Show me during the season that he's made a real attempt of cutting down his swing and then I'll believe you. Otherwise, calm down the unwarranted Felix Pie hype.

- Trying to figure out who this year's "Jacque Jones" will be? Mike Downey of the Trib seems to think it's Jason Marquis. Can't disagree with him at this point. Don't forget about Ryan Dempster though.

- Jay Mariotti thinks you should get a life if you think the Cubs are winning the World Series this year.

Oh, please, Reed. That's the same thing Kendall said last year. I really wanted to come here, they're going to win.

Thanks for another jinx.
