DID PRINCE FIELDER KILL THE SEASON FOR THE BREWERS?

It looks as if Yovani Gallardo has torn his ACL and could be done for the season. It hasn't been decided yet whether or not he'll need surgery, a surgery which will effectively end his season. The talented young pitcher for the Brewers will be replaced by, (prepare to laugh), Dave Bush.

Obviously, this will hurt the Brewers chances for a division title. Gallardo is an up and coming prospect, while Dave Bush is pure garbage. If Gallardo needs surgery, will the normally "pity us, we're a small market team" Brewers go out and try to make a trade for a starting pitcher by giving up some prospects?

And as you watch the play again, what on earth was Prince Fielder thinking? If he just flips it to Gallardo, who was ahead of him, this injury never happens? Instead, Gallardo has to get out of the way so that the 500 lbs. of Prince Fielder doesn't squash him. Say what you will about a freak injury, but this could have been avoided if Prince Fielder used his head. Now, the Brewers season could be down the toilet. I'm disappointed, because I thought it was going to be a great race this season. Cubs should clinch by Labor Day if Gallardo is done.
