And the Magic Number is under 3 digits!
Cubs win again last night, but not before Kerry Wood pulled a Joe Borowski/Ryan Dempster (closer days-Ryan Dempster) and made the save as difficult as possible on the Cubs and the fans. Kerry Wood, however, was able to blow some serious cheese past Matt Kemp to close out the game. One more win in the next 2 games and the Cubs will have a success road trip in what seems like years.
If you're feeling good about the Cubs, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times does what he can to rain on your parade. For one day, can we go without a list of reasons why the Cubs won't win the World Series?
- The Sun-Times is running a poll on who reader's think has a hotter fanbase of women, Cubs fans or Sox fans. Right now, the Cubs fans are jamming to an easy victory in the poll, but to be fair, it's because Sox fans can't read. And I don't think the drunk-tank at 26th & California gets a good internet connection. And it is 9AM and it's not like Sox fans have jobs, so they're probably still sleeping. So I expect the poll to start evening out around 2PM.
- One of our favorite blogs to read, Hire Jim Essian, made a hilarious post about ignorant Sox fans yesterday. Sox fans caught wind and hit up their comment board. And what do you know, the Sox fans were ignorant. Go figure.
