"Moises Alou Approach" unable to cure Kerry Wood's blister

Kerry Wood is unfortunately on the DL now with his troublesome blister. The blister is expected to heal soon & then Wood will have to get his arm back into game shape and back into his routine. With that move, comes the move of Jeff Samardzija making the big league roster for the first time.

It's unfortunate that Wood has to go on the DL for blister. If the blister was anywhere else but his pitching fingers, it wouldn't even be reported to the news. Funny how baseball works sometimes. Wood & Jim Hendry were asked if Wood tried everything to get back on the field. And by everything, we mean everything.

Discussing remedies, Hendry mentioned ointments and pickle juice before adding: "I haven't asked him if he tried the Moises Alou approach. …"

Alou believed urinating on his hands made them harder, so he could get a better grip on the bat.

"I already tried that a couple of weeks ago," Wood said with a laugh.

I'm sure the Alou family is proud "Moises Alou's Approach" is famous. Just like how Manny Ramirez's family is probably just as proud as Manny's bathroom habits.
